About the Place
Located in the heart of Paris at 192 bis Rue de Vaugirard, Pizzeria Luigi Pepone offers a vibrant taste of authentic Mexican cuisine infused with a welcoming ambiance. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by beautifully decorated interiors that reflect the rich cultural heritage behind each dish. The atmosphere is further elevated by live serenades, adding a warm and festive touch to your dining experience.
The menu, primarily in Spanish, showcases a wide array of traditional Mexican flavors that delight both the adventurous and the classic palate. Dishes like shredded lamb served with rice, refried beans, and tortillas stand out for their bold flavors—rich and well-seasoned, though occasionally leaning toward the spicier side. The beef and chicken fajitas are expertly prepared, paired perfectly with guacamole, freshly made flour tortillas, and the indulgent queso flameado that melts in your mouth.
One cannot overlook the standout specialties such as the mollejas, praised for their unique, robust taste, and the molcajetes that deliver a generous portion of authentic Mexican comfort food with every bite. Even the ribeye, despite being slightly overcooked according to some diners, maintains a notable richness and pairs well with the selection of Mexican beers like Bohemia Cristal—offering an authentic beverage choice that complements the meal.
Beyond the food, Pizzeria Luigi Pepone shines with attentive, friendly staff who ensure every guest feels cared for, whether you speak Spanish or English. The cleanliness and spacious seating arrangements add to the comfort, making it a place where everyone, regardless of size, can dine with ease.
While prices might feel a bit elevated compared to local Mexican standards, the quality of food, service, and the secure, inviting atmosphere justify the cost—especially for those seeking a genuine Mexican culinary experience within Paris. For returning visitors and newcomers alike, this spot continues to be a favorite destination for savoring bold, mouthwatering dishes wrapped in cultural authenticity and heartfelt hospitality.
“ The food here is good. The service was good as well. I had shredded lamb, rice, refried beans, and tortillas. The taste was great but too spicy for me. The decorations was very beautiful. They have people who serenade you for a tip. The entire menu is in Spanish, so heads up, if you don’t speak the language. ”
“ Went our 1st night in town. Staff was amazing, the food was top notch. The tables, floors were clean, booths will fit fat folk like me. Some of the staff speaks good English. Prices for Mexico were a high, but about close to what youd pay in the US. Keep in mind this is probably the best place in town and if you dont mind paying for the best, in decor, service, food and feel safe, this place is it. Large menu with a wide selection for anyone. If you don't speak Spanish ask for Antonio the Server. They also take credit cards. We had three large meals, two cokes and the Lemonade with Green Apple juice. The bill was $56.50, not counting the 20% tip we gave. Mexicans, typically don't tip, but since we're Americans we did anyways. So it came out to $67.80 US. You get what you pay for here. Any casual attire is welcome, but this place is normally nice daily to nice casual attire. ”
“ Overall food is good, beef and chicken fajitas were well seasoned. Guacamole, flour tortillas, beans and queso flameado was all tasty. Place is clean and staff very attentive. I recommend this restaurant ! ”
